Outward Rip Tide

Here, you can see the tide in its last throes of retreating. The causeway (built in the late 19th century) has reduced the speed of the tide and its capacity to clear out silt. There are plans to destroy the causeway and replace it with a bridge and shuttle service, so the rip tide can return with a vengeance.
